Short, because we collect very little.
Ailurii is the house behind OpenSein, Recht van spreken and Ailurii Nest. This page tells you which data we use, why and for how long. Briefly, in plain language.
At a glance
- On ailurii.nl: no cookies, no trackers, no ads.
- We only ask for what a service really needs to work.
- We do not sell your personal data.
- Landlords get nothing about you from us.
- Want to see, change or delete your data? Email us your request.

02When you visit this site
We set no cookies and run no analytics or ad scripts. Fonts, images and scripts are loaded through our own website. When you submit the contact form, Netlify processes the submission on our behalf.
Our host (Netlify) technically sees your IP address and browser type, otherwise it can’t deliver the page. These are kept briefly in server logs for security and troubleshooting. We don’t use them to find out who you are. Legal basis: legitimate interest, meaning a site that works and stays secure.
Your browser remembers your language and animation choices (localStorage). The language of the opened page is retained. A different browser preference may trigger a one-time language suggestion. These preferences stay on your device and we can’t see them.
03When you contact us
If you email us or use the form on ailurii.nl, we use your name, email address, subject and message to reply. Netlify processes the form. We get a notification of each submission in our Google Workspace mailbox, where ordinary email to us also arrives. We retain correspondence and form submissions for up to two years after our last contact, unless a legal retention obligation requires longer storage. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in handling questions and requests.
04OpenSein
OpenSein sends you a signal as soon as a rental home matching your search opens up. For that we need the following.
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Email address and language | your account, your login link and messages about your account and your Zoekpas | until you unsubscribe |
| Your channels | where the signal goes: Telegram, SMS or a browser notification. If you choose SMS, we also keep your phone number | until you unsubscribe |
| Your search | area, rent, rooms and the rest of your filter | until you unsubscribe |
| Which signal went where | checking that signals arrive, never twice | 90 days, after that only a count |
| Questions to the help desk | picking an answer from our own explanations | 90 days |
| Payments for the Zoekpas | the pass itself and our accounts; your bank account number stays with the payment provider | 7 years, required by law |
Legal basis: the agreement you make with us when you sign up. For our accounts, it’s the legal retention obligation. Browser notifications only switch on once you give permission yourself. If you log in with your Google account, we keep that account’s fixed ID, your email address and your name as Google passes them on.
Two things we deliberately don’t know: which home you respond to and how that turns out. That stays between you and the landlord. The other way round, the landlord gets nothing about you from us.
The full overview is at opensein.nl/privacy, with more information about the service.
05Recht van spreken
You create the letters and forms in your own browser. No account, and what you type doesn’t go to our server. Only when you click the address check do the street name and town go to the Dutch Land Registry’s Locatieserver (Kadaster, PDOK) to verify the address.
If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message, plus anything else you fill in yourself: phone number, town or housing complex and subject. Netlify processes the form on our behalf and sends a notification to our Google Workspace mailbox. We use your data to reply and keep it like email: up to two years after our last contact. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering your question.
06Ailurii Nest
Ailurii Nest at nest.ailurii.nl is the nest of the house: market data, boards and tools in one place. You only get an account by invitation. You log in without a password: with a passkey, a code by email or your Google account. Our team logs in with a passkey.
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your account | your email address, the name you choose yourself, the invitation you came in with and the boards you may see | until you delete it yourself. If you don’t log in for 12 months, we delete it. You get an email 30 days before |
| Code by email | logging in without a password. We keep the email address you type in. We do this even if you don’t have an account (yet). The code works for 15 minutes. We only keep it as an unreadable hash | 2 days at most |
| Passkey | logging in with your fingerprint, face or PIN. We keep the public key and a name for your device that you choose yourself. The private key stays on your device | as long as your account exists. If you remove a passkey, we keep it for 30 more days |
| Logging in with Google | only if you link it: your Google account’s fixed ID and your email address. We don’t store your name or photo | as long as your account exists or until you remove the link |
| Sessions | staying logged in. As a viewer you stay logged in for 30 days after your last visit and for 90 days at most. Our team for 4 hours | 7 days after they end |
| Requests | what you ask us for and your explanation | 90 days after the request has been handled. An open request lapses after 30 days |
| Log | security: when you signed up, logged in or changed something in your account. With an unreadable hash of your IP address | 365 days. The hash of your IP address 30 days. After your account is deleted, 30 more days |
| Invitations | keeping track of whom we invited, with a label and sometimes a short note. A personal invitation includes your email address | your address is removed as soon as the invitation can no longer be used. The invitation itself 90 days after it ends |
| Access waiting for you | access we prepare for your email address before you have an account | 90 days at most, unless we extend it. After that your address is gone within 30 days |
| Emails about your account | a message when something changes in your account, such as a new passkey | 30 days after sending |
If we block your account, you can no longer log in. After 12 months of blocking we delete the account.
If we invite you, you get one email with the link and sometimes a personal line. It can be resent at most once a day. Emails from Nest come from ai@ailurii.nl and go through Resend.
Nest only uses the cookies it needs to log you in and keep you logged in. Your browser remembers your choice of scale and motion (localStorage). Until you close the tab, it also remembers what you pick, such as an area or your last board (sessionStorage). That stays on your device. No ads and no trackers.
OpenSein team members use their name, email address and role from OpenSein in Nest. There they see the same data as in the OpenSein admin panel, within their role. Every customer lookup is logged.
Legal basis: the agreement about your access. For the log and security, it’s our legitimate interest in protecting Nest and your account.
Under Account in Nest you see your sign-in methods and sessions. There you log out everywhere or delete your account with everything in it. You get one email about that. Want to see what we keep about you? Email privacy@ailurii.nl. You’ll hear from us within a month.
07Who we share this with
Only with services we need to do the work.
- Netlify: hosting for our sites and the functions of OpenSein and Ailurii Nest. Also processes the contact forms of ailurii.nl and Recht van spreken.
- Supabase: the database of OpenSein and Ailurii Nest, in Frankfurt.
- Render: runs OpenSein’s background tasks, such as sending signals, in Frankfurt.
- Resend: sends the emails of OpenSein and Ailurii Nest, such as your login links and login codes.
- Google: our own mailbox, where email to us arrives. If you choose to, you log in to OpenSein or Ailurii Nest through Google.
- Scaleway: the language model behind OpenSein’s help desk and behind woonGPT, in Paris.
- Mollie: handles payments.
- BudgetSMS: sends SMS signals and the code that confirms your number, only if you choose SMS.
- Telegram and your browser’s push service: only if you choose that channel. Telegram operates outside the EU, and chats with our bot are not end-to-end encrypted.
- Kadaster (PDOK): only for the address check in Recht van spreken.
Netlify, Supabase, Render, Resend, Google, Scaleway, Mollie and BudgetSMS are processors. They may only use your data on our behalf, and there are agreements in place for that. You choose Telegram and the push services yourself, and they work under their own terms. The Kadaster only receives a street name and town.
Some of these services are American. If anything leaves the EU, it does so under the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. You can ask us for a copy of those agreements. We do not share data for unrelated purposes.
08What you can do
You can see your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict its use, object, and take your data elsewhere. If you gave permission, you can withdraw it just as easily.
Email privacy@ailurii.nl. You’ll hear from us within a month, usually much sooner. Sometimes we first ask you to confirm it’s really you, to protect your data.
Not happy with how we handle it? You can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. You can also contact us directly.
09Security, and computers that decide
Everything runs over encrypted connections, the database can’t be reached from the internet, and only people who need it for their work have access. At OpenSein we only store IP addresses as an unreadable hash, to prevent abuse.
No algorithm makes decisions about you. A filter picks which homes match your search, but that’s sorting, not judging. The help desk uses a language model to pick the right answer to your question from our own explanations. That isn’t a judgement about you either.
10If this changes
If we update this statement, the new date appears at the top. If it affects you as a user of OpenSein or Ailurii Nest, you’ll hear from us too.
The Dutch version of this statement is the leading one.
